Los atenienses dedicaron su templo principal de la Acrópolis a Palas Atenea Partenos por lo que recibe el nombre de Partenón. El primer edifico fue destruido por los persas en el año 480 a.C. y se trataba de un templo dórico, hexástilo, períptero -con 16 columnas en los lados mayores- con la cella dividida por columnas en tres naves, siendo mayor la central. El opistodomus también se dividía en tres naves, conteniendo dos capillas consagradas a Cecrops y Erecteo. Pericles emprendió una estratégica labor cultural cuyo eje principal será la construcción de una nueva acrópolis, desafiando la destrucción ocurrida años atrás a manos de los persas. El primer monumento que se empezó a construir sería el Partenón, entre los años 448 y 438 a.C. Los arquitectos que lo diseñaron fueron Iktinos, Kallíkrates y Karpion, aunque de este último nombre no volvemos a encontrar datos. El nuevo templo será dórico, octástilo, dístilo y anfipróstilo. Se levanta sobre tres gradas y mide poco más de 70 metros. En sus frentes menores encontramos un segundo pórtico de seis columnas que permite, en el oriental, el acceso al pronao, y en el occidental, el opistodomo. Este consta de tres naves y es de dimensiones casi cuadradas, estando destinado al tesoro de la diosa y de la ciudad. La cella también es de tres naves, formadas por dos filas de columnas superpuestas en dos cuerpos, situándose en el fondo la estatua de Palas esculpida por Fidias. El templo es de mármol blanco del Pentélico, cubierto con tejas de mármol de Paros. Los triglifos estaban coloreados en azul y la tenia, en rojo. También estaba policromada la decoración escultórica. Para contrarrestar los efectos deformadores de la visión, los arquitectos hicieron más voluminosas las columnas de los extremos, inclinaron al centro todas las columnas, disminuyeron progresivamente la anchura de las metopas y curvaron todos los elementos horizontales por lo que los bloques de mármol son trapezoidales. El Partenón se transformó primero en templo cristiano, después en mezquita y por último en polvorín durante la guerra turco veneciana de 1687. Precisamente la parte central fue alcanzada por una bomba veneciana, quedando el edificio en una precaria situación que empeorará cuando en el siglo XVIII sean utilizadas algunos de sus mármoles para otras construcciones y lord Elgin se lleve, en el XIX, la mayor parte de sus esculturas al Museo Británico. Marty Robbins - El Paso (1959) EL PASO is a country and western ballad written and originally recorded by Marty Robbins, and first released on Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs in September 1959. It was released as a single the following month, and became a major hit on both the country and pop music charts, reaching #1 in both at the start of 1960. Una de las cosas que hizo (Rubén), desde el principio con Fania, fue componer para que artistas ya consagrados como Ismael Miranda grabaran sus canciones. Asi que, antes de ser reconocido como cantante, ya era apreciado como compositor dentro de la empresa disquera. Fue su calidad como compositor lo que le permitió ser reconocido por Fania. Recuerdo en particular que fue Ismael Miranda el primero en reconocer, y dar crédito públicamente, a Rubén por sus composiciones. Rubén nunca lo olvido. Siempre creí que Rubén es un compositor que también canta, en vez de un cantante que también es compositor. Constantemente recibía llamadas de gente diciendo "necesito una buena tonada". Eso fue lo que precisamente ocurrió con "El Cantante". Willie lo llamo porque Héctor había sido hallado con una sobredosis dentro de un auto y necesitaba una "buena canción o tonada" para ayudarle a regresar a la escena. Inicialmente Rubén no quiso darle la canción a Héctor, pero lo convencí de que lo hiciera. Me encantaba Héctor Lavoe y la broma mas grande entre Rubén y yo era que Héctor fue mi cantante favorito (lo sigue siendo). Cada vez que Héctor se presentaba me aseguraba de ir a escucharlo. En una oportunidad, durante un concierto de Fania All Stars en el Madison Square Garden de Nueva York, Rubén vino hasta donde yo estaba sentada en medio de la audiencia y me llevo tras bastidores --lo que yo odiaba- Sin pronunciar palabra me condujo hasta donde Héctor estaba, recostado sobre una de las puertas. Al llegar justo al frente de Héctor (Rubén) me pregunto: 'quien es tu cantante favorito?' y le conteste ' Héctor Lavoe'. Héctor se sonrió sin saber exactamente lo que ocurría y fue cuando Rubén dijo: ' Héctor, sabes quien es ella? Es mi novia Paula'. Héctor entonces rió a carcajadas. The "El Camino Del Rey" Video This is NOT me in this video. I just love where this video takes you from beginning to end. I want to share that same feeling with you guys. Some of you will only see this as some guy walking on the side of a mountain. Others might see more. Enjoy. El Caminito del Rey (English: The King's pathway) is a walkway, now fallen into disrepair, pinned along the steep walls of a narrow gorge in El Chorro, near Álora in Málaga, Spain. The name is often shortened to El Camino del Rey. HISTORY: In 1901 it was obvious that the workers of the Chorro Falls and Gaitanejo Falls needed a walkway to cross between the falls, to provide transport of materials, vigilance and maintenance of the channel. Construction of the walkway lasted four years. It was finished in 1905. In 1921 the king Alfonso XIII had to cross the walkway for the inauguration of the dam Conde del Guadalhorce, and it became known by its present name. The walkway has now gone many years without maintenance, and is in a highly deteriorated and dangerous state. It is one meter (3 ft) in width, and is over 700 feet (200 m) tall. Nearly all of the path has no handrail. Some parts of the walkway have completely collapsed and have been replaced by a beam and a metallic wire on the wall. Many people have lost their lives on the walkway in recent years. After four people died in two accidents in 1999 and 2000, the local government closed the entrances. However, adventurous tourists still find their way into the walkway. The regional government of Andalusia budgeted for 2006 a restoration plan estimated at € 7 million.
