U.S. "to set up bases" in Central Asia credit to Russia Today http://www.russiatoday.com/news/news/34834 U.S. "to set up bases" in Central Asia The U.S. is planning to set up military bases in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, according to Russia's head of the General Staff. He said Washington already has forces in Bulgaria and Romania that can become operational within hours, raising concern in Moscow. Speaking at the Academy of Military Science, General Nikolay Makarov also pointed out that the U.S. is prompting Georgia and Ukraine to join NATO. "In this situation, it is clear that Russia is concerned by the deployment near its borders of NATO's advanced forces and bases ready to start combat operations within hours. The chief of the General Staff also cited U.S. president-elect Barack Obama who said that all efforts should be consolidated to monitor democratic reforms in Russia and China." General Makarov added that anyone hoping for policy change after Obama takes office is making a dire mistake. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan - former Soviet republics in Central Asia - are strategically important partners for both Moscow and Washington. The U.S. is strengthening its ties with oil-rich Kazakhstan, which in 2001, after the 9/11 attacks, allowed American planes to fly over its territory during the U.S.-led war in Afghanistan. Now that Washington has announced its plans to send 20,000 more troops to the war-ravaged country, the U.S., according to some Russian experts, will need more bases in neighbouring states. The U.S. also had a military base in Uzbekistan which served as a hub for combat and humanitarian missions to Afghanistan until 2005 when the Central Asian state evicted American troops from the airbase. But now Uzbekistan is turning its foreign policy westwards and searching for closer ties with Washington and the EU. Etiketler: US Central Asia Kazakhstan Uzbekistan |

Indo-European mummies in central Asia and China Indo-European mummies in central Asia and China - A branch of nomadic Indo-European people of the indo-germanic sub-group, related with Indo-European people (Germans, Celts, Iranians (Aryans), Greecs...) of Europe and Central Asia, called by Greecs as Tocharatoi, by Chinese and later Turko-Mongolian people as (Ta-)Yu-echi/Da-Xia/Da-Hia and Da-Shi (''Tajik'') were nomading in the pontic and central Asian´s stepes up to China and Mongolia. Earliest records of their existence goes back for 4000 years ago. Unlike most Indo-European languages, their language was an isolated one, tough it belonged to the centum-branch (centum: 100; German, English, Dutch...) of the Indo-European languages, unlike the satem-branch (satem:100; Iranic languages (Abestan/Avestan), Sanscrit, Vedic, Sarkholi, Hindustani/Urdu....). The first evidance of their language dates on the 8th century A.D when first religious books were written in the Tocharian language in all Central Asia, their native and original language beside Bactrian and Soghdian. However, they became famous under the name ''Kushan'' (from Guishang, modern chinese provnce Gansu) and later again they were part of the larger Central Asian´s tribalic confoderation of the Hephthalites, a mixed ethos (Sogdians, Bactrians, Tocharians, Persians, Turks, Mongols and possibly Tibetans and Koreans) formed of deadly warriors from large parts of Asia. US TO PUT MILITARY BASES IN CENTRAL ASIA !!! CHAPTER TWO - GOD COMES TO MEET MAN By natural reason man can know God with certainty, on the basis of his works. But there is another order of knowledge, which man cannot possibly arrive at by his own powers: the order of divine Revelation.Through an utterly free decision, God has revealed himself and given himself to man. This he does by revealing the mystery, his plan of loving goodness, formed from all eternity in Christ, for the benefit of all men. God has fully revealed this plan by sending us his beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. ARTICLE I - THE REVELATION OF GOD I. GOD REVEALS HIS PLAN OF LOVING GOODNESS "It pleased God, in his goodness and wisdom, to reveal himself and to make known the mystery of his will. His will was that men should have access to the Father, through Christ, the Word made flesh, in the Holy Spirit, and thus become sharers in the divine nature." God, who "dwells in unapproachable light", wants to communicate his own divine life to the men he freely created, in order to adopt them as his sons in his only-begotten Son.[3] By revealing himself God wishes to make them capable of responding to him, and of knowing him and of loving him far beyond their own natural capacity. The divine plan of Revelation is realized simultaneously "by deeds and words which are intrinsically bound up with each other" and shed light on each another. It involves a specific divine pedagogy: God communicates himself to man gradually. He prepares him to welcome by stages the supernatural Revelation that is to culminate in the person and mission of the incarnate Word, Jesus Christ. St. Irenaeus of Lyons repeatedly speaks of this divine pedagogy using the image of God and man becoming accustomed to one another: The Word of God dwelt in man and became the Son of man in order to accustom man to perceive God and to accustom God to dwell in man, according to the Father's pleasure. II. THE STAGES OF REVELATION In the beginning God makes himself known "God, who creates and conserves all things by his Word, provides men with constant evidence of himself in created realities. And furthermore, wishing to open up the way to heavenly salvation - he manifested himself to our first parents from the very beginning." He invited them to intimate communion with himself and clothed them with resplendent grace and justice. This revelation was not broken off by our first parents' sin. "After the fall, God buoyed them up with the hope of salvation, by promising redemption; and he has never ceased to show his solicitude for the human race. For he wishes to give eternal life to all those who seek salvation by patience in well-doing. Even when he disobeyed you and lost your friendship you did not abandon him to the power of death. Again and again you offered a covenant to man. Severe Flooding Ravages Central Asia CHEN: Floods have created havoc across central Asia. Millions have been displaced and the death toll continues to rise. A broken dam in Nepal is the cause of this suffering. Here's a look at the situation. STORY: The Nepalese Army is mounting rescue missions as floods ravage Central Asia. The torrential rains are causing havoc across India, Bangladesh, and Nepal, displacing millions. Officials are saying this is the worst flooding in fifty years. The flood began when the dam on the Kosi River in Nepal broke. The resulting waves of water smashed mud embankments in the downstream state of Bihar, one of India's poorest regions. The waters in southern Nepal have receded but bridges remain down and roads are inaccessible in several places across the country. Indian army troops helped evacuate more than one hundred twenty thousand people from floods in eastern India, but more bad weather raised fears that rivers would continue to overflow. Many villagers are offering prayers and sacrifices of goats to appease the Kosi river. To them, it is known as Bihar's, "River of Sorrow" because of its regular floods and ability to change course. At least two million people have been forced from their homes and a quarter of a million houses destroyed. So far fifty-five deaths have been officially reported in Bihar, but activists and local media think the death toll is much higher. Stranded villagers complained of an unbearable stench from rotting carcasses. Torrential rains have killed more than a thousand people in South Asia since the monsoon began in June. The majority of lives lost have been in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh. More deaths were reported from Nepal and Bangladesh. Some experts are blaming the floods on heavier monsoon rains caused by global warming, while others say authorities have failed to take preventative measures and improve infrastructure.
